  20. the perfect vision of CM that i could create is one where there was a similar dress code but where we could be allowed to wear khaki shorts and sneakers with the polos and but i would keep the winter dress code. the middle school and high school dress code would be the same. the parking lot would be alot bigger so anyone who drives could park there and CM would hold a relay for life each year on the football field and track.

  21. What would make Catholic Memorial the best that it could possibly be would be a better sense of community. What i mean by this is the school would be closer knit if there were not the separations between the high school and the middle school. the things that could be changed would be making the school have one uniform dress code, instead of separate ones for the high school and lower school. It would also be helpful if middle school students had classes in the high school, and high school students had more classes in the lower school. this would make it easier for students to interact with one another and get to know one another too. those are the two things that would make CM a better place in my eyes.

  22. The vision of CM I would like to see would be a community of people that all know each other the best that they can. People wouldn't exclude anyone if they were comfortable and familiar with all of there peers. If the CM community was more like this I think it would be a good thing.

  23. The vision I see CM being better than it is now is that the middle schoolers get to know the high schoolers. They do know us because of Peer Ministry, but they do not know the other 700 students. I would have the middle school lunch dispersed throughout the day, not just them in D block. I would also have some of the eighth graders classes in the high school so they get use to the atmosphere and the people they will be with for the next four years. Those were the two ideas I had on how to have the middle schoolers feel secure when they become freshmen.

  24. To make CM a better community, we need to avoid separation. This can be done most effectively by bringing the middle school and high school together in certain situations. For example, everyone wears the same uniform and every one is located in the same building(s). Another idea is that middle school and high school don't have designated lunches. There are 4 lunch periods and everyone is randomly assigned to different lunches. This would then greatly improve the comfort levels of the middle schoolers, resulting in them having more confidence to get involved in different things around school.

  25. To make CM a more tight knit community, separation must be avoided. Although high school students deserve a little more freedom than the middle school students, uniforms should be worn the same throughout the school. Although the idea of no dress code may sound great, I think that it would lead to more distinct separation. Students from CM come from very diverse lifestyles and no uniform could possibly distinguish how well off one is. More exposure to the high school would also help make middle schoolers feel more at home in the CM community. I do not think it should be taken solely upon the peer leaders to intermingle with the middle school students. I think there should be a period in time during the school year where the younger students could shadow a student in the high school to ensure that they experience a fuller taste of CM.
